   CAKE ENDS™ came to be after an outburst of frustration when yet another piece of cake was deemed unworthy to serve to a paying customer. It was the fourth piece in two days!

   The cost of the wasted product was a growing problem and my staff was tired of me nagging them about the unappetizing appearance of the fallen cake pieces in our display cooler. I knew there had to be a way to prevent my cake slices from falling apart while being moved in and out of the display cooler.

   It all came to me when I was putting a book on a shelf and the row of books toppled like a line of carefully lined dominoes. I needed a bookend! A bookend I could see through! A bookend I could see through and serve with! I needed a CAKE END!
